Re Protocol is an on-chain protocol that connects digital asset capital with reinsurance markets. Eligible users can deposit stablecoins into Insurance Capital Layers, which allocate capital to fully collateralised quota-share reinsurance contracts through licensed insurers. Users receive protocol assets such as reUSD or reUSDe. RE is the protocol’s ERC-20 governance token and is designed for participation in Re Protocol governance. Token holder voting is planned through an on-chain governance portal, with governance expected to cover areas such as protocol upgrades, technical permissions, committees, reporting standards, market participation and shared resilience capital. Re separates governance from underwriting decisions, which remain with licensed carriers and accountable underwriters.
