The ONDO token is the governance and utility token of the Ondo Finance ecosystem, a platform focused on the tokenisation of real-world financial assets such as U.S. Treasuries. ONDO is not used to secure the Ondo Chain, which relies on staking of tokenised RWAs by permissioned validators. Instead, ONDO serves to govern protocols like Flux Finance through the Ondo DAO, with holders able to vote on proposals covering smart contract upgrades, treasury allocations, and economic parameters. A majority of the token supply is allocated to ecosystem development, funding grants, integrations, and incentive programmes. While some third-party platforms offer ONDO staking, there is no native staking mechanism tied to network consensus. Its utility remains focused on decentralised governance and long-term ecosystem alignment, not on-chain security or direct product access.
